Shu, Takehiro, Iori, Minami and Ms. Yokoyama were introduced to the Thomas J. Rusk Academy of Fine Arts students at their morning "Jump Start" Session. The students of Ikueikan J.H. introduced themselves in both English and Japanese. They concluded by singing their school song as a slide show of their school, town and prefecture were shown in the background. Also on the agenda was a visit to the Art room where the students taught 2nd and 3rd graders how to make Origami. Shu and Iori also visited Ms. Fuchs' dance class where they were taught a dance by the 4th graders. Fun was had by all.
Following the school visit, the group headed downtown to the fire station and were treated to a wonderful tour and a ride in the firetruck! Their visit to the Texas Store for souvenirs was exciting, a Texas size burger from butcher boys made the very happy and topped the day off with a stained glass pumpkin activity at Glass Castles. Kudos to all, teachers and students for a great lesson and fantastic craftmanship! :)
